As the Caldor Fire continues to threaten parts of El Dorado County, the county has opened an assistance center at the Folsom Lake College Placerville campus.  The center will provide residents with access to several county agencies that can aid those displaced due to the fire, including the Assessor, Recorder-Clerk, Treasurer-Tax Collector, Planning and Building, and Elections.  State agencies are expected to attend starting Monday, August 30.  More information and hours of operation are available here.

The El Dorado County Elections Department is making special efforts to ensure evacuated residents are able to vote in the September 14 gubernatorial recall election.  Because ballots were mailed the day before most evacuation orders were issued, many voters may not have access to their original ballots.  Several options are available for voters to request a replacement or vote in person on or before September 14.  More information is available here.

General information about the Caldor Fire is available on the county’s website here.
