The Taxpayers Association is rolling into April with more informative and engaging conversations about important community issues in El Dorado County.

On April 4, the Association hosted Michael McCoy from John Adams Academy. Mr. McCoy shared the school’s vision and its plans to expand its campus in El Dorado Hills. The next day, those plans won approval from the El Dorado County Board of Education on a 4-0 vote. If you missed the discussion you can watch it on-demand here.

The Association will host Sherman Haggerty on April 11. Mr. Haggerty served on the Volunteers of America (VOA) (Northern California-Northern Nevada) board of directors from 2005 to 2013. In 2014 he became the director of their transitional housing program, Mather Community Campus. He is the author of Hope Disappearing: A Population Left Behind.

The April business meeting will be April 18, followed by El Dorado County Chief Administrative Officer Don Ashton on April 25. CAO Ashton will provide an update on the county’s fiscal situation and priorities.

All meetings are held at 7:30 am at the Denny’s in Placerville (99 Fair Ln). Meetings except for business meetings are also streamed live and available on-demand on the Association’s Facebook page.
